yo so ok so basically Apple might be about to drop new MacBook Pros like really soon and I am not being dramatic (ok maybe a little) but this is actually pretty cool
So MacRumors is talking about this report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and he’s saying Apple’s next launch is “imminent” which is such a funny serious word, but yeah it basically means soon soon. Like not “event in two months” soon, more like “press release could happen any day” soon
And the thing that’s supposedly coming is new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Not a new design though, so don’t expect some wild new look or like a MacBook that folds in half or whatever. It sounds like it’s mostly the same vibe but faster, which honestly is still a win because the MacBook Pro is already kinda perfect if you’re into that clean laptop life
The other part that matters is they’re saying it lines up with the macOS 26.3 release cycle, and that cycle runs from February through March. So it’s like Apple is syncing the new Macs with the software timing which is very Apple, they love doing that “everything is a system” thing
My take. I’m hyped, but also I’m trying to not get too excited because sometimes “imminent” turns into “lol nevermind” in Apple land. But if it’s a simple speed bump with M5 Pro and M5 Max, that’s still gonna be awesome for anyone doing video editing, music stuff, coding, or like having 42 Chrome tabs open while pretending your doing homework
Also I just love when Apple does quiet launches because it feels like you wake up and boom, a new Mac exists and your wallet starts crying
