For the first time in 8 years, Apple will increase the amount of RAM in base Mac models, according to Bloomberg.
The Mac M4 models tested within Apple have either 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM. It is likely that 16 GB will become the new minimum amount of RAM in Macs.
At the same time, 32 GB will be the new maximum for the M4 chip. Currently, the maximum amount of RAM available in Macs with the M3 chip is 24 GB.
The MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac are expected to be the first to receive the M4 processor at the end of 2024. The MacBook Air and Mac Studio with the M4 chip will be released in 2025. [9toMac]
