It was over. The tirade of the Windows computer in my house was over. The mechanic beast that I was living with is gone. This marks the end of any Windows device tenure in my house. For years, I have had to live with the knowledge that it is in my house. The virus in my house. My cousin took off my hands for me since he was off to college and my dad gave him the computer. “Good riddance” my dad said as my cousin hauled it off to his car never to be seen again. The computer had gotten 5 viruses from the time we bought it in 2006 until we gave it to my cousin. One of the viruses in particular wiped the hard drive. Everything in the computer was gone. You name it, it was gone. Music, videos, applications, everything gone. If it hadn’t been for the fact that I back everything up, everything would be gone. Of course, this story does not begin from any of the viruses. It begins from the purchase of the first Mac. It begins with the fact that there’s a better computer out there. It begins with that knowledge. The 6 year long story ends with the downfall f the Windows computer, the one that has plagued me for so long.
