Apple, on Wednesday, released tickets for its upcoming WWDC conference in San Francisco, California. It also sold out of its tickets on Wednesday in a record breaking 2 hours! Wow! That is incredible! What is even more astonishing is that the tickets were only sold to developers. What can we expect on June 11-15? I’ll go through all the details of what is to come on that fateful week.
First, Apple will show off it’s new Mac OS, OS X Mountain Lion. ML is bound to be THE OS release of the year with many iOS-inspired features, it’s bound to be insanely great. Please check out my article about all the known features of the new OS
Second, on a similar note, MacBooks will be expected to release with OS X Mountain Lion. Unless some out of the blue Apple announcement happens, it will be shown off at WWDC. Hundreds of rumors point to June being the release month for these computers and they are probably right. Please check out my MacBook Pro 2012 article for more information on the upcoming MacBook Pros.
Third, Apple may end up showcasing iOS 6 at this event. It has been about 8-9 months since the last release and it’s about a year in between releases so you can imagine that they will release it very soon. What will be in iOS 6? Better multitasking, Facebook Integration, better iCloud integration, a better Maps application that could be more like your GPS, being able to communicate with non-Apple users with FaceTime (a PC application will go along side this). Something I’d like to see is automatic app updates, possibly update while the iPad is being charged. A feature on the App Store that reminds me of a shopping cart would be nice, since you have to download ONE APP AT A TIME. There is a lot of things Apple can include in iOS6.
Fourth, Don’t expect the iPhone 5 here. The cycle in which Apple introduces its iPhones has been changed ever since the 4S was released in October 2011. This may or may not be repeated this year but I don’t think Apple is ready to release its iPhone 5. If you would like more information on what to expect for the iPhone 5, please check out this article.
WWDC seems it will be a really eventful event:) I know I look forward to seeing what they release and I am personally excited to see the new MacBooks. What about you? Comment below and let me know what you are excited about.
