Apple announced a restructure of it’s executive team very recently. Craig Federighi and Dan Riccio are now SVPs of Apple. Dan Riccio’s new role is the SVP of Hardware Engineering. He has been at Apple for 14 years. He first joined as the VP of Product Design and was appointed VP of iPad engineering in 2010.
Craig Federighi’s new role is the SVP of Mac Software Engineering. He is a face you may recognize for he has been on several media events and promotional videos. He has been at Apple since Jobs came back and was at NeXT with Jobs. He was also responsible for the release of Apple’s most successful Mac OS to date, OS X Mountain Lion.
Both people have been and will continue to be a huge key to Apple’s success but there is one more thing. The former SVP of Hardware Engineering Bob Mansfield will stay at Apple and report to CEO Tim Cook. He will still have an influence on future products at Apple.
So there you have it, short and sweet, the new management team, or actually part of the new management team at Apple. Let me know your thoughts on the new team in the comments.
