Happy 29th Birthday Macintosh!

29 years ago today, we saw that 1984 wasn’t like 1984. While it has been 29 years since Jobs stood on stage and introduced the Macintosh, forms of the Macintosh exist today. The iMac, some would argue, is the relative that brought Apple back to profitability. The portable Macintoshes we have now, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro continue to be sold and the Mac Pro and Mac mini are being sold. Of course, if lengthened, these names would be iMacinstosh, MacintoshBook Pro, MacintoshBook Air, Macintosh Pro and Macintosh mini, because behind all the sleek clean design and updated software and hardware is still the 1984 Macintosh showing us that ever happy smiley face! I thought that you guys would appreciate the following videos. They are not mine.

Elementary School Shooting

We rarely post anything not about Apple on the site but I felt today is a day that requires it. This morning, a gunman went into an Elementary school in Connecticut, after killing his mom, shot and killed 20 elementary school students and 6 adults at the school. I am at a loss of words to really comment about this but I would like to give my condolences to the family members affected by this tragedy and to the students who will forever be traumatized by this horrible event. Also, I know that the people killed in this horrible tragedy will rest in peace. God Bless you all and I hope that this is a reminder to how short life is and that we must cherish it every second of every day.

Here’s to the crazy ones the misfits, the rebels, the round pegs in the square holes, the ones who see things differently, they are not fond of rules and have no respect for the status quo, you can quote them, disagree with them, glorily or vilify them, but just about the only thing you can’t do is ignore them, because they change things, they push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
