Apple TV+ Is Starting 2026 Like It Had a Triple Espresso

Apple TV+ just kicked off 2026 with one of those “oh wow, they actually came to play” January lineups.

If you’re like me and you open Apple TV+ intending to watch one thing, then somehow end up browsing for 25 minutes, good news. This month has enough new and returning stuff that you can pretend your scrolling habit is actually “research.”

The headline for me is Tehran season 3 landing on January 9, finally. It’s the kind of tense spy show where you say “one more episode” and then suddenly it’s 1:47 a.m. and you’re negotiating with your alarm clock.

And it’s not just Tehran. Apple TV+ has a packed slate of January returns, plus more episodes rolling out through the month, so you can keep your weekly watchlist alive without resorting to rewatching the same comfort sitcom for the 900th time.

My take, Apple TV+ is at its best when it leans into quality, not quantity, and a month like this is exactly why I keep the subscription around. Also, if Hugh Laurie showing up in your January plans doesn’t spark joy, I don’t know what will.
