The iPhone 16 is just around the corner, and we already know almost everything about them. Just as we’ve compared the iPhone 16 with the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 16 Pro with the iPhone 15 Pro, we’ve decided to compare the iPhone 16 with the iPhone 16 Pro to see the possible differences we’ll encounter this year.
The differences between the standard models and the Pro models usually focus on specifications like the screen, power, or cameras. This year will be similar to previous years. Here are the main differences we expect between the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Pro.
Screen Sizes
In recent years, the entry-level iPhones and iPhone Pros have had the same screen size: 6.1 inches for the iPhone and iPhone Pro, and 6.7 inches for the iPhone Plus and iPhone Pro Max. But this year, this is expected to change as Apple is likely to slightly increase the size of the iPhone Pros. Therefore, we’ll see differences in screen sizes:
- iPhone 16 Screen: 6.1 inches
- iPhone 16 Plus Screen: 6.7 inches
- iPhone 16 Pro Screen: 6.3 inches
- iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen: 6.9 inches
ProMotion
Size won’t be the only major difference between the iPhone 16 screens, as once again, only the Pro models will feature ProMotion technology. At least it’s expected to be the last time, as all iPhone 17 models should have ProMotion technology.
This means that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have a 60Hz screen, while the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a screen with a refresh rate variable between 1 and 120Hz. This will remain a weak point for the iPhone 16 screens.
Colors and Materials
This is a difference we see every year and will continue in this generation. Apple will introduce new, eye-catching colors for the iPhone 16, accompanied by an aluminum frame, while the iPhone 16 Pro models will keep the titanium and more subdued colors. Here’s what to expect:
Colors of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus:
- White
- Black
- Blue
- Green
- Pink
Colors of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max:
- Black Titanium
- White Titanium
- Gray Titanium
- Pink Titanium
Cameras
This is one of the main differences between the iPhone and iPhone Pro models. Apple will maintain its strategy for another year, with two rear cameras on the iPhone 16, positioned in a new vertical arrangement, and three cameras on the iPhone 16 Pro arranged in a triangle.
Cameras of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus:
- 48-megapixel main camera
- 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera
Cameras of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max:
- 48-megapixel main camera
- 47-megapixel ultra-wide camera
- 12-megapixel 5x telephoto camera
A18 Chip
Although all iPhone 16 models will have the A18 chip, something that hasn’t happened in the last two generations, there is expected to be a difference in power between them. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are likely to use a less powerful A18 Bionic chip compared to the A18 Pro used in the Pro models. However, all will be compatible with Apple Intelligence.
Internal Storage
The difference in internal storage will again be noticeable between the two devices. It is expected that the two iPhone 16 Pro models will start with 256 GB of internal storage, compared to 128 GB for the standard models. Additionally, there will be more options, including 1 TB and possibly 2 TB. The iPhone 16 will likely be limited to a maximum of 512 GB.
These are the main differences we expect between the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Pro. Leaks have revealed almost all their secrets; now we just need to know when Apple will present the iPhone 16, although the date is almost confirmed.
