UPDATED: It’s official, Mountain Lion WILL be available tomorrow. The countdown begins.
Apple’s new OS X update is supposed to be out this month, its already July 21st, still no Mountain Lion. Don’t worry though. If you’re yearning for a release date, your best bet is July 25th. Allow me to explain.
All-Nighter
Apple, on July 24th, is pulling an all-nighter. Employees have been asked to work overtime for “training”. Those who are being trained are trainers, specialists and customer service. Apple does do this sometimes but its not very common and is usually reserved for new product releases. Could this mean that Mountain Lion would come the day after? It could be. There are no other products/reasons to do this. There is another reason to believe that Mountain Lion’s coming on July 25th.
Yes Mr Cook, our finances are strong, oh by the way we’re announcing that Mountain Lion will come tomorrow
On July 24th, Apple is holding their financial report conference call. The call is to report the Quarter 3 conference call. So what? It’s just an financial report and they don’t announce any new products at that. That’s wrong. Last year, Apple announced that OS X Lion would be released the next day. They announced it during the financial call. Apple has done it before and they can and probably will do it again. Apple did after all promise it this month, its not here and to adhere to that promise they need to release it in the next week and a half.
Golden Master
The last developer version of Mountain Lion before its release, otherwise known as the GM or Golden Master, has been released. Apple has a consistent time between the GM release and the final release, which on average is 2 weeks, about what it is from the release of the GM (July 9th) and the speculated final release (July 25th). It sounds almost guaranteed it will come on July 25th.
I’m very excited about Mountain Lion. I’m looking forward to the great features it will have. If what I (and many others) say is true, we can see Mountain Lion in a mere few days. Come back for a first hand look at Mountain Lion and a specialized article on Apple’s financial call. Please tell me your thoughts on the upcoming OS in the comment box below, we love to hear from you!
