Apple has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to use AirPods Pro 2 as an over-the-counter hearing aid.
This is the first time the agency has granted such approval to an audio device not originally designed for this purpose.
AirPods Pro 2 will receive the hearing aid functionality this fall.
