If you needed one more excuse to procrastinate in the name of “self-improvement,” Apple just delivered.
Apple Books now has a shiny new 2025 Year in Review, and it’s basically Apple’s way of saying, “Hey, remember all those nights you swore you’d go to bed early?”
According to a new report, the 2025 Year in Review shows up right inside the Apple Books app and gives you a personalized recap of what you actually read this year, not what you meant to read.
You’ll see the fun stuff, like how many books and audiobooks you finished, your top genres, your most-read authors, plus a month-by-month breakdown that will absolutely call you out for that one week you turned into a reading machine.
And because Apple can’t resist being extra helpful, Apple Books is also highlighting editorial picks for Best Books of 2025 and Best Audiobooks of 2025, so your “to be read” pile can continue growing in a completely responsible way.
My take, this is the kind of low-key Apple feature I love. It’s not flashy like a new iPhone, but it makes the ecosystem feel more personal. Also, I fully support anything that lets me brag about finishing a book without having to start a podcast about it.
So go open Apple Books, find your Year in Review, and prepare to either feel proud or gently roasted by your own stats.
