Oh, Apple. Just when we thought you were done making big moves, you go and casually say, “How about $600 billion in U.S. investment?”
Apple announced it’s increasing its U.S. commitment to $600 billion over the next four years, and it’s launching a new American Manufacturing Program to bring even more of its supply chain and advanced manufacturing to the U.S.
And it’s not just vibes and press release confetti, there are real, very specific plans in here. Apple says this includes working with partners like Corning and Texas Instruments, expanding chip supply chain steps like packaging and testing, and scaling up U.S. facilities tied to things like Apple Intelligence infrastructure.
My favorite part is the “more end-to-end” energy. If you’ve ever yelled “PLEASE MAKE MORE THINGS LOCALLY” into the void, Apple is basically yelling back, “Okay, okay, we heard you.”
Also, you know this means one thing for us, more Apple hardware built with tighter control over the parts pipeline. Translation, fewer weird shortages, faster ramps, and hopefully more of that classic Apple polish where everything feels annoyingly well thought out.
