Okay, Apple fam, this one is spicy.
According to a new report, Apple is working on a big Siri makeover that would turn it into a proper AI chatbot, more like the stuff we’ve all been using lately, but baked right into iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
The really fun part is it’s not just voice. You’d be able to type to Siri too, which is perfect for when you’re in public and you don’t want your phone loudly announcing your life choices.
It also sounds like this is separate from the more “personalized” Siri upgrades coming sooner, so think of it like two stages, first Siri gets smarter, then Siri becomes that friend who can actually hold a conversation.
My take, I’ve wanted “Chatty Siri” since approximately 2012. If Apple pulls this off with real privacy guardrails and that classic Apple polish, we could finally stop treating Siri like a glorified kitchen timer.
